Every question must be answered for you application to be valid. You will notice that our adoption applications ask for your landlord’s contact information if you rent, a veterinary reference, and whether or not all other pets in the home are current on vaccines, this information is required for processing.  The application approval process takes approximately 3 – 5 days (not including weekends).  Once approved, applicants will be notified by email so they can arrange to adopt their ideal pet.

Applications remain on file for 90 days from date of APPROVAL and good toward any of our available dogs and cats.  We do not adopt on a “first come, first serve” basis.  Rather, we adopt on a “first approved and best fit” basis.  We have adoption counselors on hand to help you find the perfect fit. We strive to match each pet with their forever family. When you stop by the shelter or an adoption event to meet an animal, an adoption counselor will answer any questions you have and make pet recommendations based on your wants and needs. If you have children, we always encourage you to bring them with you to choose a new four-legged family member. If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dogs in your home, we require a scheduled meet and greet between our dogs and your current pet dogs prior to adoption.

Once your dog or cat has been chosen and the required meet and greets completed, you will be scheduled (as appropriate) to finalize your adoption.  Adoptions appointments are available Tuesday – Saturday between 10am – 4pm.  Appointments outside of these days and hours, must be made in advance.  Our goal is to provide you with the best adoption experience available.
